Foothill Elementary School
We dream big and never give up. We have respect for ourselves and the world around us. We are active learners who make responsible choices. Our actions make our environment safe.

Foothill Elementary Students and Parents:

I would like to take this opportunity to express to you my excitement about being appointed as the new principal at Foothill Elementary School.  I feel fortunate to be joining a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation, and collaboration.  It is my intention to carry on these important traditions and practices.

To introduce myself, I have been an educator in the Alpine School District for 15 years both as a teacher and an administrator.  I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in History/English Teaching in 1994 and a Masters in Administration in 1999.  In 2007, I obtained my Doctorate from the University of Utah.

As a teacher I taught junior and senior high school History/English and created an integrated class called American Studies.  Concurrently, I taught and later served as the principal of a school for at-risk students in Provo.  During the past eight years, I have had the pleasure of working as an administrator at both Lehi Junior High and Mountain Ridge Junior High.  All of these experiences have provided me a myriad of opportunities to interact with many diverse groups of students such as those here at Foothill.

It is a privilege to become part of a school where the community works along with the classroom teachers to give every child the best educational opportunity in achieving their goals and dreams.  Foothill Elementary School is truly a special place where dreams are realized and success is achieved.  I look forward to the journey we will take together as “Foothill Explorers!”
